What leaves the farm.

Almost everything we produce is sold or shared inside our own community. Prices are what local households can pay; quality is what we’d feed our own families — because we do. We also keep pigs and grow vegetables and sweet potatoes alongside the lines below.

Mill grinding maize into flour at Fortune Farms.

Staple

Maize flour & bran

Our own maize, dried and milled on-site through our own machinery — two hullers, a miller, a breaker and a splitter. The flour is food-grade for people; the bran becomes animal feed, which is how we cut our own feed bill by around 70% versus buying it in.

Daily

Eggs

A flock of laying hens — scaling toward 2,000 birds — housed in a purpose-built chicken house, collected and graded daily. Sold by the box to households and shops. We hatch and rear our own birds in an on-site hatchery, so the flock renews itself.

From the waste

Organic fertilizer

Nothing is wasted. Chicken litter is windrow-composted with biochar made from our own maize cobs into a dark, premium organic fertilizer — 40–50 tonnes per clean-out. The brown leachate is collected as a liquid feed. Both go back onto our crops or out to neighbouring farmers.

Bulk

Bulk maize

Format
50 kg / 100 kg sacks
Quality
Sun-dried, hand-sorted, no aflatoxin shortcuts
Lead time
Same-day during harvest season, otherwise call ahead
